Our chef, Sébastien CORNIAU
At the age of 15, Sébastien Corniau took his first steps in the kitchen, beginning an apprenticeship that taught him the basics of French gastronomy and plunged him passionately into the demanding world of haute cuisine. From the small family home to Michelin-starred establishments, he climbed the ladder with determination: commis, chef de partie… until he joined exceptional three-starred establishments, where he perfected his culinary art.
In 2001, he set sail for Polynesia, where he spent more than eight years honing his skills. Returning to France in 2009, he took up a new challenge by taking over a gourmet restaurant in Saint-Crépin, Hautes-Alpes. His talent was quickly rewarded: first with a Bib Gourmand from the Michelin Guide, followed four years later by a star, which he kept for ten years. After selling his restaurant, the call of travel and adventure led him to Tahiti, where he embraced a new challenge at the Kon Tiki Boutique Hotel.
Today, it’s at the Surfhouse that Sébastien Corniau fully expresses his creativity, blending his excellent know-how with exotic and local flavors. Its cuisine, both refined and authentic, invites you to a unique sensory experience, between tradition and modernity.
